The story

The night her stepsister Vivian died, she was blamed for the fall and became the prime suspect in a murder she did not commit. To escape prison, she was forced to marry Vivian's mate, Alpha Damien, and raise their son Trevor as her own.

For five years Trevor has tormented her, destroying anything of her mother's she touches and calling her a killer. On his tenth birthday, he throws his mother's vase at her head and grinds his foot into her bleeding hand, while Damien and her stepmother Patricia remind her that the bond is all that keeps her from prison.

When her mother's last dress is shredded and she is sent tumbling down the stairs, she finally tells Damien she wants to reject their bond. What she never expected was how desperately they would search for her afterward.

Opening

The night my stepsister died, they blamed me for pushing her down the stairs. That made me the prime suspect in a murder I didn't commit.

To avoid prison, they forced me to marry my stepsister's mate, Alpha Damien and become guardian to their son.

On little Trevor's tenth birthday, I accidentally wore my stepsister's diamond earrings that had been mixed with my jewelry.

In front of everyone, Trevor threw his mother's cherished vase straight at my head sending me falling.
