The story
At the Rossi family's annual charity gala, Vincent spends three million dollars on the antique necklace called the Blood Tear and fastens it around the neck of Bianca, the daughter of a rival family, while his fiancée Clara Rossi watches. He mocks her before the whole room, casting her dark web post onto the screen for everyone to laugh at.
Humiliated, Clara retreats — and the fifty-dollar bounty she posted is answered by Gabe, the feared enforcer. He sends her a plan to reclaim her family's power, and a seven-day battle for the next supreme leader of the Rossi family begins. Clara signs her name on the entry form, takes up a gun at Gabe's side, and refuses to serve Vincent any longer.
As Vincent trains Bianca and expects Clara to obey, Clara learns to hold her own hand steady — and to walk away.
Opening
At the annual mafia charity gala, my fiancé Vincent dropped three million dollars on the most coveted antique necklace in the room.
Everyone looked at me with smiles and congratulations. My friend grabbed my arm, whispering, "Your patience finally paid off! All those years of kissing his feet weren't for nothing!"
Then he turned around and handed the necklace straight to Bianca, the daughter of our rival family.
