The story

Henry is planning a second wedding, and his wife Vivian is not the bride. He hired Chloe as a surrogate to carry his child, and now he intends to give her Vivian's place as his wife as well. Six years of marriage, Vivian realises, were her own one-sided delusion. So she stops fighting and stops waiting: she clears out her closet, sells what he gave her, and applies for a long-term residency visa to Germany, resolved to vanish completely.

Henry notices none of it. He tries on a groom's tuxedo before his friends, waves off her silence with promises of dinner and gifts, then abandons her at the roadside the moment a message from Chloe arrives. He even plans a grand birthday party for her, unaware that her mind is already made up.

When Vivian finally asks for a divorce, Chloe publicly announces her pregnancy, and Henry grabs her hand, begging her not to leave. Too late.
