When My Brother Discovered the Truth About My Death

When a young woman is murdered and her dismembered body is pulled from a river, the case lands on the desk of her own elder brother, Xavier Cullen. Five fingers are missing, and the autopsy offers no trace of the killer. Xavier, a police officer, has spent six years hating the girl he once called his sister, ever since he learned she was the daughter of the murderer who abducted his real sister, Chloe. To him, she is bad luck, the one his father Calvin died to save.

As Xavier hunts a killer he cannot identify, he keeps watch over Chloe and refuses to spare a thought for the girl who has lived alone since she was twelve. Carson, the colleague who quietly helped her through those years, urges him to call her, but Xavier will not hear her name. He does not know that the body on the table is hers, and that the tattoo on her hand, her father's badge number, is the clue he just let slip away.
