The story
On the night he decides to end his marriage, Ethan Lawson meets God and is granted a chance to change the past by meeting his wife at eighteen. He makes two wishes: that Claire Lane stay out of the alley where a stray dog would bite his wrist, and that she never confess her feelings to him. When he wakes, eighteen-year-old Claire sits beside him, translucent and confused, while thirty-year-old Claire returns home with their son, indifferent to the breakfast he prepared and tossing his anniversary gift into the trash. As his scar fades, Ethan realises the past can truly be rewritten, and he asks the girl who once loved him to walk away from him forever.
