The story
Melissa has just won 800 thousand dollars, and her first thought is her daughter Alicia's surgery. But when an urgent call summons her back to the office, her husband Russell Scholl takes the bank card and offers to pay the hospital bill himself. In her past life, she trusted him and hurried away — only to be framed for embezzling company funds by Russell and her colleague Kristen Meyer, while the money vanished and her daughter died waiting for treatment.
Now she has been reborn at the very moment Russell takes the card. This time she hands over the PIN anyway, then reports the transfer to the police as a scam and rushes to the lottery center to have her winnings notarized before anyone can erase her claim.
At the office, Kristen and the general manager confront her with records of stolen funds bearing her name. Melissa knows the trap — but this time she has already moved first.
Opening
Then, out of nowhere, a colleague called.
"There's an extremely urgent situation at the company. You need to come back and handle it right now!"
My husband took the bank card from my hand and, with thoughtful understanding, said, "Tell me the PIN. I'll go pay for Alicia's surgery. You head back to the company and focus on work."
