The story
When his wife's nephew Oliver is kidnapped for a $500,000 ransom, Gideon calls her 999 times, but Zara has frozen every card he owns and vanished with Holden Tyndall. Oliver dies after three days of torture. Zara and Holden, believing the dead child is Gideon's daughter Poppy, sign papers to donate her heart to Holden.
Gideon produces a DNA report proving Oliver was Zara's own son, then hands her a divorce agreement. Zara signs without hesitation, confident she has secretly moved the company's assets into a shell company under his name, leaving him with nothing but debt.
Gideon answers by throwing her and Holden's luggage out of the house.
Opening
My wife's nephew, Oliver, got kidnapped.
The ransom was $500,000.
Then my wife froze every card I had.
I called her 999 times.
Not one call went through.
Oliver was tortured for three days.
By the time they found him, he was covered in wounds.
Dead.
I pulled every favor I had and finally found Zara.
In a hotel bed.
With her so-called brother.
"I'm wrecked about Poppy too, but she's gone. We can't bring her back. Holden needs heart surgery, and Poppy's a match. Send the body to the hospital."
