The story
At Sandra Zimmer's wedding, the screen meant for the couple's photos suddenly displays the prenatal report of Bianca York, the groom's assistant, naming Gordon Abbott as the father. Bianca panics and apologises; Gordon stays calm, claiming he only accompanied her out of pity and will be her child's godfather. Sandra tears off her veil, schedules an abortion, and announces that Bianca will take over as bride.
Gordon insists it was a mistake and refuses to end their seven-year relationship, reminding Sandra she carries his child. Bianca urges Sandra not to cause a scene before their business partners, and the two go off to toast the guests. Sandra leaves with her best friend, Lilia Smith, determined to end things with dignity.
That night Gordon returns drunk, massages Sandra's feet, and offers a brooch shaped like a pea pod, swearing Bianca means nothing. When Sandra asks about the breakup, he warns her no one else would want her with his child. Then Bianca texts, asking him to come over.
Opening
At my wedding, the giant screen that's supposed to show our photos suddenly switches to the groom's assistant's prenatal exam report.
It clearly shows that he is the child's father.
The assistant looks flustered and panicked as she rushes to apologize to me.
