The story
Jess Collins wakes up at nineteen, back at the villa party where she first schemed her way toward Annie Bright. In her past life she married him at twenty-three, becoming New York society's envied Mrs. Bright — until tabloids caught him with his childhood sweetheart, Isabelle Monroe, and she smiled through every humiliation. Only on her deathbed did he ask if she would be his wife again in the next life. She wanted no next life. Now she has one.
This time Jess refuses to marry him. She kisses Silas on a dare instead of confessing to Annie, and when Annie offers to drive her home through the snow and asks to come up, she says no. But Annie's grip on her wrist and his murmured question show he has already noticed her. Raised by a mother who molded her into a trophy wife, Jess must decide whether she can truly escape the Bright family — or whether Annie will pull her back in.
