The story
Jasper promised to marry her once she was pregnant. When the test came back positive, he took her to a ward at City Central Hospital, where her stroke-stricken father greeted him as his son. The man she had loved for five years, it turned out, was her long-lost brother. What she carried was no symbol of love but a seed of revenge he had planted five years ago, born of his hatred for her mother.
Jasper no longer bothers to pretend affection. He grips her throat, humiliates her, and brings his childhood sweetheart Keira into their home, giving her the jade pendant she once prayed for on the Tibetan Sky Road. When she falls down the stairs, he believes Keira's word over hers, calling her as deceitful as her mother.
Her mother offers a house abroad; her resignation is signed and thrown in her face. As Jasper and Keira walk away hand in hand, she is left alone with the child he never wanted.
