The story
Eleanor and her husband Richard have searched for their missing daughter for seven years, and two young girls are finally found as possible matches. One, Lily, shares Eleanor's exact eyes and nose; the other, Fiona, is declared the biological child by a DNA report. Eleanor's ten-year-old son Lucas and Richard both urge sending Lily back to St. Jude's Home at once.
Then glowing, scrolling comments appear before Eleanor's eyes, revealing that Lucas has regressed and swapped the blood samples to spare Fiona suffering, and that he intends to eliminate anyone standing in his way. Eleanor refuses to accept the report, takes Lily to a private clinic for a second test, and learns the truth: Lily is her daughter.
She brings Lily home to a frigid household, where Lucas rages and Richard insists Fiona is their real child. Eleanor faces them with the truth in hand.
Opening
We had finally found two young girls who could potentially be our long-lost daughter.
One of them looked remarkably like me, possessing my exact eyes and nose. Yet, when the DNA test results came back, they declared that the other girl was my biological child.
As I stood there, utterly paralyzed by confusion, a strange, glowing feed of scrolling text comments suddenly materialized in front of my eyes:
[Oh my god, the male lead is so romantic! To protect the female lead from suffering, he regressed and swapped her blood…
