The story
Alex is a man so bound to his calendar that even love must be scheduled. A dinner needs thirty days' notice, a movie night six months, and a vacation is penciled in a decade ahead. On their sixth anniversary, Corinne waits alone in their penthouse with a candlelit cake, only to be told she never booked the moment. Two weeks later she watches him spend six unhurried hours making fuse beads with Whitney, his new young assistant, and learns that his rigid schedule has exceptions after all.
When Corinne reaches for him, she is told to route every request through Whitney, who hands her a business card with polished triumph. A broken craft, a staged scene, and Alex's cold demand for an apology leave her certain of one thing: she will never book an appointment with him again. She calls her father and asks to take over the European division, ready to reclaim her own life.
Then Whitney's tearful call about a twisted ankle sends Alex bolting out the door before Corinne can finish her sentence.
