The story
On Valentine's Day, a man's mother-in-law is stabbed twenty times and killed. He files charges against the murderer, Richard, but his wife Melody, a renowned lawyer, chooses to defend the killer instead. She urges him to drop the case, calling the dead woman wicked and greedy, and warns him not to embarrass her in court.
Melody does not realize the corpse is her own mother's. She brings Derek and Richard to the funeral hall, where they spit on the body, dump it in a stinking ditch, and Richard kicks and urinates on it. Melody demands a pardon letter for Richard, who is still a college student, and refuses to sign a divorce agreement.
When the man arrives at the courthouse, his divorce application has been rejected, and the funeral hall has been destroyed. The body is gone, replaced in the ice coffin by a pig's carcass, with wreaths bearing his mother's name and poems swapped for insults. Derek arrives late, his arm around Melody's waist.
Opening
On Valentine’s Day, someone stabbed my mother-in-law twenty times until she died.
So, I took the murderer to court. My wife was a renowned lawyer, but she decided to defend him.
I confronted her in anger, but she casually replied, “Derek’s younger brother is still a college student. Can’t you be a little more forgiving?
“I’ll bring Derek and his younger brother along to visit your mother’s grave. Drop the charges. Don’t let this go to trial and embarrass me when you lose the case.”
Looking at the mangled corpse full of stabbing wounds, I could not help but let out a bark of laughter.
