His Likes Were Never Love

In her fifth year as a full-time housewife, Melissa is diagnosed with severe depression. Posting on social media is the only way she can prove she is still alive, and every post receives an immediate like from her husband, Calvin Kenneth. Those likes are what keep her hand away from the sleeping pills.

On her birthday, she finds a work group chat on his tablet called "Mr. Kenneth's Personal Image Management Team," where his secretary reports that her post has been liked on schedule. His private account shows a photo with his first love, Elizabeth Winster, beneath the Northern Lights in Icethern. Calmly, Melissa throws away the dinner she spent the afternoon preparing and signs the divorce papers.

When Calvin insists he only wanted to make her happy, Melissa asks whether he was thinking of her then, too. He cannot answer, and she remembers that Elizabeth is the reason she became depressed in the first place.
