The story
For seven years, Ella has waited to be Luna, but her mate, Alpha Carson, never sealed their bond. After rogues attack the annual ball at the Wayvere Company resort outside Werewolf City, she is gravely wounded, yet Carson carries his fainted new secretary to safety while Ella bleeds on the ground. She loses the twins she never knew she carried.
Recovering alone, Ella finds another woman's lacy bra at his estate and watches Carson dote on his secretary, Anna, while forgetting even that she is allergic to peanuts. She accepts a position with Mr. Milton, owner of Carson's rival pack, and signs the contract.
As Carson drifts further away, Ella must decide whether to keep waiting for a bond that may never come.
Opening
I lay there, staring at Alpha Carson as he carried his new secretary, who had fainted at the sight of a rogue. Meanwhile, I was sprawled on the ground, drifting in and out of consciousness, my wolf urging me to wake up and fight. But how could I? I had a deep gash on my left leg from when one of the rogues had attacked me during the annual ball at the Wayvere Company resort, right outside Werewolf City.
