The story

A woman takes her daughter to her parents' home for National Day, only to be accused by her mother of being selfish over a 10,000-dollar medical insurance reimbursement. The woman had paid 30,000 dollars for her mother's hospital stay and taken leave to care for her, while her brother never visited. When she tries to leave, her brother kicks her, and her father demands she hand over the money, calling her a married daughter who has come home for money.

Her mother urges her to give the reimbursement to her brother, who wants it for his son's private school fees. Her nephew, Jack Lane Jr., pushes her when she brings no imported chocolate, and her sister-in-law calls her stingy. After a tantrum at the snack shop over a 1,360-dollar bill, her nephew runs off. Back home, her brother throws a teacup at her head, and her nephew shoves her daughter, calling them useless nobodies.

Opening

At that moment, I was about to pay the bill and was taken aback, confused as to why she suddenly said that.

She muttered, “Although you’re very kind to me, you’re really not as generous as your brother!”

“Last time I was sick and hospitalized, you took all the 10,000 Dollars reimbursed by medical insurance!”

“Having a daughter like you, so petty with her own brother from your mother’s family, makes me feel ashamed!”
