The story
Naomi has spent eight years scrimping and saving, hunting bargains on secondhand apps to keep her family afloat while her husband Marcus claims he earns barely three thousand dollars a month. When she buys a cheap Lego set for their six-year-old son Toby from a friendly seller named Isla, she is stunned to discover that Isla's Instagram is a glittering archive of a perfect life with Marcus himself — trips to Paris and Rome, bespoke jewelry, designer clothes — and that Isla's son Ollie is Toby's half-brother.
Marcus is worth millions, yet he has watched Naomi ration meals and buy the cheapest formula while he showered another family with gold. Confronted, he refuses to transfer a single dollar, storms out, and then demands that Naomi apologize to Isla. When Naomi comments on Isla's post, Marcus threatens to leave her to handle Toby's school enrollment alone.
Naomi has had enough of leftovers. She will no longer give her love to a man who never spent his on her or their son.

Marcus would hold me close, his voice thick with guilt. "I'm so sorry, sweetheart. I'm useless. I hate seeing you live like this."
I would brush it off with a smile. "Don't worry about it. Secondhand stuff works just as well.
