The story
Fifteen years ago, Adrian sold one of his kidneys to raise the 300,000 dollars needed for his father Cedric's surgery. The moment the money reached his account, his wife Isabella Marten transferred it all away to buy her brother-in-law, Phil Gentry, a luxury car. Cedric died the night his surgery was scheduled, and Isabella chose that moment to demand a divorce. When Adrian's mother, Gloria Sonnier, heard the news, she suffered a heart attack on the spot.
Adrian agreed to the divorce and walked away with nothing, letting his mother sever ties with him and his relatives brand him a wretched ingrate. He never explained himself. Fifteen years later, he learns that Isabella and Phil's daughter has been accepted into the police academy, and he contacts the Office of Personnel Management to file a report, finally seizing the revenge he has waited fifteen years to take.
Opening
Who would've thought that the moment the money reached my bank account, my wife, Isabella Marten, would transfer it all away? With the money meant to save my father's life, for which I'd sacrificed a kidney, she bought her brother-in-law, Phil Gentry, a luxury car.
Dad passed away on the very night his surgery was scheduled because I couldn't afford the fees. Yet, with Phil at her side, Isabella chose that moment when I was at my most anguished to bring up the topic of divorce.
