The story
Sylvia has quietly loved Austin for three years, ever since they met on an online film forum where she identified a movie from his late mother's memory. When he sends her a Miu Miu dress and asks her to wear it to school so he can find her, a laundry mix-up puts the dress in her younger sister Violet's closet instead. Violet wears it, and Austin mistakes her for the girl he has been talking to, confessing his love to the wrong sister.
As glowing bullet comments drift across Sylvia's vision, mocking her as a pathetic side character and praising Violet's beauty, she deletes her half-written explanation and closes the chat. Her mother refuses to apologize for the mix-up, and Violet, though guilty, is already being drawn into Austin's orbit. Sylvia watches the boy she has loved for three years clasp hands with her sister, unable to say a word.
Then Violet carelessly tosses an apple onto Sylvia's desk, and Austin, standing nearby, freezes.
Opening
My online boyfriend sent me a Miu Miu dress.

The good news was that I had just discovered my online boyfriend was actually Austin, the boy I had secretly loved for three years.
The bad news was that when my sister wore the dress, he mistook her for me and confessed his love to her.
Just as I was about to type out an explanation to him, a cascade of glowing bullet comments drifted across my vision:
