The story
Theo Langford spent eighteen years selling pancakes in a small town before the Langford family brought him home. His grandfather, Gary Langford, had bypassed the rest of the family to leave him a 60% stake in Langford Corporation, making him the largest shareholder overnight. Knowing nothing about business, Theo lets his adopted sister, Lila Langford, run the company while he learns to be an heir.
Everyone comes to believe the company cannot survive without Lila, and Theo is dismissed as a freeloader. When Lila hires a new intern, Daniel Wagner, he throws a stack of Theo's expense forms at his feet in front of the whole office and calls him a parasite. Lila sides with the intern, and the next day Theo's office has been turned into a smoking lounge.
They expect him to panic and run to Lila for help. But before Gary Langford died, he taught his grandson one thing: anyone who dares to treat your property as their own should be kicked out with nothing.
Opening
By the time the Langford family takes me home, I've spent 18 years selling pancakes in a small town.
