The story
For six years, Aria believed her husband, Don Axel Thorne, died protecting her in a mob war. She mourned him, refused every suitor, and agreed to an arranged marriage with the Hayes heir. Then, on the anniversary of his death, a photo surfaced: Axel alive in a Miami penthouse, sliding a diamond onto another woman's finger.
Aria tracks him down and finds him with Seraphina, the adoptive sister the Family exiled for her obsession with him. Axel faked his death to start a new life with her, and she is pregnant. When Seraphina flees to the balcony, Axel throws Aria off, and she strikes her head, waking in a clinic with twelve stitches while he tends to his wife.
Axel then confronts Aria with an encrypted message about a Thorne supply line to the Kozlovs, a deal she knows nothing about.
Opening
My husband, Don Axel Thorne, died protecting me in a mob war. I was his widow for six years, until I turned thirty.
The old guard of the Family told me it was time to move on. My friends told me to let him go.
Even in my dreams, his bloody hands would cup my face, begging me to live again.
So I agreed to an arranged marriage.
But first, I went to his grave for one last goodbye.
I’d just left the cemetery when a post appeared in my feed.
