The story
Antony Henson took on a young apprentice, Rachel James, six months ago. Lately she turns up at the home he shares with his wife, Ebony Fox, wearing Ebony's pajamas and the necklace Antony gave her, acting like the lady of the house. When Ebony objects, Antony insists Rachel is young and needs his help, calling her family and telling Ebony not to be petty.
Ebony slaps him. The apartment belongs to her parents, and Antony's Seattle residency came through their marriage, so he backs down and promises not to bring Rachel home again. Yet a month later, outside his office, a client mistakes Rachel for his wife, and Antony does not correct him.
When Ebony confronts him, Antony calls Rachel a little sister and says he only looks out for her because his boss assigned her to him. Ebony must decide how much of this she will keep tolerating.
Opening

I came home from work.
And there was my husband's new apprentice, the girl he'd taken on recently.
Wearing my pajamas, with the necklace my husband gave me around her neck.
The second she saw me, she actually greeted me like she was the lady of the house.
"Ebony, what are you doing home?"
All I wanted was a good shower and to sleep. When I didn't answer her, she only got bolder.
