My Wife Left Our Son to Celebrate Her Assistant's Birthday

On the first of May, William's son Henry is scheduled for a bone marrow transplant, but his wife Rina leaves to go cycling up a mountain with her assistant, Johann, to celebrate Johann's birthday. She dismisses Henry's marrow cleansing as nothing serious and refuses to postpone the trip. When Henry's condition collapses, William begs Rina to return, but she has blocked him and is celebrating with Johann. Henry dies, and Rina's reply to the news is that she does not want anything ruining her vacation.

After three days unconscious, William decides to divorce Rina. His mother-in-law, who raised him after his parents died in the line of duty, understands and blames herself. William packs a single suitcase and holds Henry's urn. Rina returns with Johann, bruised from the trip, and orders William to care for Johann and give him the master bedroom. William hands her the divorce papers and walks out.
