The story
Leonard is the youngest senior partner at his accounting firm, a man who cannot sleep if a single cent is unaccounted for. For four years he has kept a shared digital ledger with Naomi, splitting every dinner, ticket and ride down to the dollar, and she has loved him enough to accommodate it.
Then a package notification reveals six sealed cases of Labubu vinyl figures, bought at a steep markup for Cassidy, the young associate he mentors. His private ledger shows movies, amusement parks and fast passes, all on his own tab. When Naomi sets her engagement ring on the glass table, he inspects the prong and calculates the depreciation. Days later, her key code no longer opens their apartment; Cassidy answers the door in Naomi's slippers.
Four years of entries, balanced to the cent, and one question left open: what is Naomi worth to him?
