The story
In the afterlife, a top-tier soul guide finally claims the Platinum Rebirth package: life as the sole heir to a New York City financial dynasty. But in the last millisecond before her soul settles, her arch-rival squeezes in beside her. They become twins, fighting over nutrients and inheritance rights from inside the womb.
Their mother, Eleanor, is married to Carter Brooks, who reveals the truth: the twins were conceived as spare parts for Noah, the failing-hearted son of his mistress, Chloe. He demands Eleanor sign organ donation consent forms, threatening her family and her life if she refuses. Trapped in the gilded cage they fought nine hundred years to enter, the twins can only listen as their mother's terror triggers contractions.
When Eleanor reaches for the pen, one twin kicks hard, making her vomit over the forms and Chloe's shoes. Carter's rage erupts, but the fight for their survival has only begun.

I gave her a swift kick. “Get out of here. This trust fund is mine.”
She retaliated, siphoning half my nutrients from the umbilical cord. “Please. First one out is the oldest.
