The story
A new intern publicly accuses Creative Director Sue of being deadweight, coasting on past glory while her team produces nothing. What the accuser does not know is that Creative Team 1 is known across the company as the Golden Sanctuary, where attendance counts for only thirty percent and the rest rides on end-of-year results.
Rather than defend herself, Sue answers the outcry with a new set of rules: flexible hours canceled, a 9-to-9 facial-recognition punch-in schedule, daily 3,000-word work logs, and compliance weighted at seventy percent. The department erupts, and her senior leads beg her to revert the changes.
Sue is certain the anonymous post came from the intern Chloe, whose phrasing matches words she spoke to Sue's face. Summoning her, Sue assigns Chloe the enforcement of the very policies that have enraged the team, a role that can only make her enemies on every side.
Opening
The new intern publicly blasted me on the company intranet.
In an anonymous tell-all post, she accused me of being a deadweight Creative Director—coasting on past glory, burning through huge budgets, and running a team that produced absolutely nothing.
What she didn’t realize was that Creative Team 1, under my lead, was notoriously known across the entire company as the "Golden Sanctuary."
We never clocked in or out. Attendance and basic compliance accounted for only thirty percent of our evaluations.
