The story
In the Sterling family, eight-year-old Eleanor Sterling has never spoken a word. Her mother Grace weeps in secret, her father Arthur, CEO of Sterling Enterprises, watches his hope for her fade, and her cousins Chloe and Harper openly mock the silent heiress. What none of them know is that Eleanor remembers a past life as an exhausted financial analyst, and she has chosen silence to enjoy a quiet, useless life of wealth.
That plan ends the day Marcus Thorne, Wall Street's most vicious vulture, arrives from New York to force a hostile takeover. In the boardroom he humiliates the executives, offering a lowball buyout, demanding the Southside property, and threatening to gut the R&D team. When the CFO Mr. Henderson collapses and the room erupts, Eleanor steps forward and speaks her very first words.
Her dream of a quiet life is over. Some blind flies insist on waking a sleeping lioness.
