The story
A sales representative discovers a finance employee's gloating social media post about blocking a reimbursement out of spite. When the rep's own two-week-old claim stalls, the confrontation becomes personal: the finance officer, Seymour Landon, rejects each resubmitted form on ever-pettier grounds, from pen type to a faintly torn invoice edge.
Escalating to the boss only deepens the humiliation. Jessica Harrington sides with Finance, praises Seymour as a Star Employee, and accuses the sales staff of being parasites who waste company resources. Suspicion of misusing funds hangs over the rep, and Seymour follows up with open contempt.
Back at a desk, staring at the rejected forms, the rep's phone buzzes with a social media notification whose headline catches the eye.
Opening
"That idiot in Sales. I just wanted to put my bar receipt under his name for reimbursement and he refused! If he won't let me claim it, then no one gets reimbursed! This time I'll make sure he learns what happens when you offend Finance!"
The comments section was full of complaints and criticism, but the original poster didn't seem bothered in the slightest. The tone was arrogant, almost smug.
