The Ring He Never Gave

At eighteen, Alexis accepted a cheap ring from Brooks in their rental apartment. Six years later, Brooks is found by the Davis family and becomes heir to a powerful household, secretly engaged to another woman. On their anniversary, Alexis comes home early and overhears Brooks and his friends mocking her, calling her unworthy and laughing that she is too stupid to discover his engagement to Laurient, an heiress.
