The story
Chloe has always protected her sister Lily, the target of mockery and cruelty. When a neighbour lured Lily with candy, Chloe took a cleaver to him; when a cousin tormented her, Chloe force-fed him pesticide. Terrified of what she might do next, her parents committed her to an asylum, where she remained for ten years.
Released at last, Chloe learns that Lily's husband, Derek Sterling, and his mistress Vanessa Thorne locked Lily in a dog kennel for three days, leaving her body mangled and her life hanging by a thread. Chloe goes to the Sterling estate, cooks a meal for the pair, and serves them their own beloved dogs. As they fall unconscious, she binds them to chairs, cuts Vanessa's hair, and demands five million and a divorce.
Derek refuses the divorce, and Vanessa collapses in agony, for Chloe's stew held more than sedatives.
