The story
A woman has nearly completed her mission as a raider: all she must do is give birth to the male lead's child. Yet her cold CEO husband, Sean Blake, her childhood friend, has every ounce of affection for her replaced by devotion to her sister, Vanessa Carter. In her seventh month of pregnancy, Sean has her wheeled into an operating room, while her parents calmly sign the consent forms. He intends to force a premature delivery to harvest the umbilical cord blood for Vanessa, who is not even sick.
As the system declares her mission failed and her life is set to end, she asks Sean for a divorce instead of fighting. He signs, casting her off without a cent, and Liam Hayes, her childhood friend and the lead surgeon, watches her tears with contempt. Betrayed by everyone she once trusted, she can only stroke her belly and say goodbye to the child she could not protect.
