The story
Legally married for seven years, Yvaine Snow has been left at the altar thirteen times by her CEO husband, Jared Lane. Each time, his assistant Maeve Fischer suffers some convenient accident, and each time he rushes to her side instead. On Yvaine's birthday, Jared abandons her party to drive Maeve home, and hours later Maeve sends Yvaine intimate recordings of herself with Jared, who insists he will never truly marry Yvaine.
Once a celebrated jewelry designer, Yvaine gave up her career for a man who married her only because his grandmother, Eleanor Rhodes, demanded it. Now she quietly packs her life into a single suitcase, discards the gifts and the stuffed toy that began their story, and prepares to walk through a thirteenth wedding alone.
With divorce papers on the table before Eleanor, Yvaine has finally chosen herself. But Jared, unsettled by her sudden calm, is only beginning to realize what he stands to lose.
