The story
Blair has spent three years bankrolling Preston, a scholarship student from a small town who became a streamer, paying his tuition, his allowance and his wardrobe while he kept her a secret at school. When she sends him a lavish gift on his live stream, he erupts, and glowing lines of text begin drifting across her vision, a running commentary on her own life. The comments name her the villainous ex-girlfriend standing between Preston and Daisy, her roommate, the girl who saved for nights to send him a single digital rose.
Blair accepts the truth and ends the relationship, turning instead toward Preston's rival. She packs his belongings into cheap plastic bags, leaving behind every designer item she bought him. Preston comes home furious, certain her breakup is another tantrum, and the floating commentary insists she is only acting out to win him back.
Blair blocks his path and tells him his things are packed by the door.
Opening
