The story
Eleanor Anderson, the long-lost daughter of the Anderson family, returns home as a gifted investor from Brooks Street. She quickly sees that her parents' businesses are heading for disaster, and warns that only by handing the companies to her — and keeping her away from her arranged marriage partner, Parker Ward — can they turn the tide.
But the adopted daughter, Gianna Anderson, sees her as a threat to her power. Teaming up with Parker, Gianna kills Coco, the dog that has been with Eleanor since childhood, and twists the story so that Colton and Layla Anderson blame Eleanor instead. When Parker's investments appear to soar, her parents dismiss her warnings as naive, and Parker moves to replace her in the marriage alliance with Gianna.
Holding her cold dog in her arms, Eleanor's eyes turn icy. The Anderson family, she decides, has no reason to exist anymore.
