The End of Our Vows

Jeremy Sandler has loved Cassidy Simone through countless betrayals, even her affair with Henry, the fake heir. He worked out and took medication, desperate to meet the fertility criteria so he could give her a child. Yet when the doctor finally confirms he qualifies, he walks into her office to find her kissing her new male secretary, who is told to get out. Thirty minutes later the secretary swaggers past him, and Jeremy, long numb to such provocations, tells Cassidy he wants a divorce. She scoffs, takes a flirty call from Henry, and points him to the agreement she has already signed.

At the villa, Cassidy's adoptive mother Hannah waits with concern, and Jeremy hides both his fertility report and a diagnosis of early-stage stomach cancer. Then Cassidy arrives with Henry for dinner, feeding him from her spoon and announcing they will share the master bedroom. Jeremy stays calm, agrees, and reminds her he has signed the divorce papers and wants to register it at city hall. His indifference unsettles Cassidy, who cannot understand why he no longer fights for her.
