The Wayward Husband

During a wedding-photo reshoot, Larry suggests his wife dye her hair ash brown with hazel tones. She refuses, noting her boss forbids distracting colors, and his easy expertise about young women's trends unsettles her. His nervous thumb gives him away, so after he leaves she opens his laptop. His messages are spotless, but a flower-shop charge and a long list of recurring payments, beginning six months ago, tell another story.

She traces the shop to an Instagram account filled with romantic posts. In one photo, two hands form a heart, and on one hand she recognizes the wedding band she designed herself. The posts show Larry and another woman traveling, weaving a lover's knot, and calling themselves husband and wife. She flies to the rustic town and finds his photo in the artisan shop. She tells the shopkeeper he has died and takes the knot home.

Back home, Larry panics when he sees the knot. She hints that she knows, but he only says he is tired. She dodges his kiss and leaves, while a voice message reminds her that tomorrow is Grandma's eightieth birthday.
