The story
On her birthday, Mia's parents give the princess dress meant for her to her adopted sister, Scarlett. When Mia cries for another, her parents die in a car crash, and her brother Liam blames her, shipping her to a disciplinary boot camp. Eight years later, Mia works as a clown at an amusement park, her leg broken and her face burned at the camp, and there she sees Liam and her parents, alive, spending a fortune on Scarlett's birthday fireworks. When Liam grabs her wrist and sees her burns, her parents turn away, and Scarlett's tears make him accuse Mia of ruining the celebration. Ordered to crawl and bark for fifty dollars, Mia, who is dying of bone cancer, endures the crowd's jeers as Liam vows to ruin anyone who hires her.
