The story
When her brother-in-law takes her father to a massage parlour with special services, a young woman tries to stop them and is scolded by her mother and sister for meddling. She reports the shop, the money is recovered, and the two men stay away — until her brother-in-law locks her in a basement and tortures her for a month. On her deathbed she learns the truth about him and the parlour.
She wakes on the very day he first suggests the outing. This time she says nothing and watches. Her father returns with medicinal wine, then with more, and her mother grows exhausted as he keeps visiting. When her mother finds 300000 yuan gone from her savings, he admits he spent it on a membership. Then a woman named Zhao Yan arrives at the door, pregnant with his child, demanding money or a place to give birth.
Her father, desperate for a son, moves Zhao Yan into the young woman's room and threatens divorce. The young woman stays to watch the farce unfold, waiting to see how they fare without her obstruction.
