The story
Audrey Bennett agrees to her father's demand: marry the reclusive, ailing Mr. Hayes instead of her sister Skylar, and her gravely ill mother will receive the special medicine she needs. In two weeks, Audrey will belong to another man, far from Liam, the fiancé she grew up with.
But Liam has already given his heart to Skylar, the illegitimate daughter her father moved into the Bennett estate. Humiliated and discarded, Audrey watches the two of them flaunt their betrayal, while the family company's crisis makes her marriage the price of survival.
When Skylar's whims reach the hospital room where Audrey's mother clings to life, Audrey must decide how much she is willing to lose before she walks away for good.
